Visual 3D surface profiling to check twist and movement in higher-end levels.Traceable to NIST. Some models have built in Vibration meter which can help for detecting a soft leveling foot when moving axis to monitor vibration as you move. If it is higher vibration at one point more weight should be put on leveling foot. Some levels include a phone app with or without an optional PC Sync Pro Software  8500 and 8900.
