Starting the Process "What do I need to do to get started?"
Q: What is the best way to get the Waycover repair process started?
• A: You have two options to start:(expand)
• Option 1: Estimate Before Sending
A) CONTACT US to request the Waycover Quote form
B) Provide *detailed* pictures of all your damaged way covers as well as angle shots to each surface to see any bending, dents or other damage. Send via Email. If upon actual inspection any quotes are underestimated due to damage not seen in pictures a new quote will be provided.

Q: Can i get an estimate / quote for my Waycover repair?

Costs, Payment, and Warranty "How can I pay for this?"
Q: What's the average cost for a Waycover repair?
• A: That's a complicated question that depends on many factors including type, material, and damage to your covers. As a rough estimate:(expand)
- On average, the cost for a small standard Metal Roll-Up Way Cover repair ranges from $800 to $1000.
- On average, the cost for a standard Metal Cover 3-4 sections 36 inches wide where no sections need to be made new averages $1500-2000.
- The actual cost may vary depending on the specific condition and size of the cover.

Q: Do you warranty your Way Cover repair work?
• A: We offer a 3-month warranty for repairs due to our error or premature failure based on workmanship. (expand)
- Please note that external causes like dents, misuse, or poor maintenance are not covered under the warranty.
- Our warranty does not cover damages caused by standing on covers and warping them, tools thrown in machine damaging lips of waycovers, excessive chip load embedding in wipers, improper installation or poor maintenance of chip buildup in machine.

Q: What's not covered under the warranty?

Q: Can I use NET terms / pay later?
• A: All of our work for Waycovers requires a minimum down payment of 50%.
Waycover Failure and Maintenance "Why did my waycover fail?"
Q: What causes Waycover Failure?
• A: Machinery Way covers fail for many reasons here are the main causes for waycover failure: (expand)
- Chip buildup under way covers due to improper seals
- Bent bolts that hold waycover together or are used as pivot points
- Tools dropping onto waycovers because of tool changer misalignment
- Deterioration of wipers from chemicals
- Improper coolant flush setup to keep covers clean and lubricated.
Q: How can I prevent Waycover Failure?
• A: There are many things you can do to extend the life of your waycovers including: (expand)
- Spray down all waycovers weekly. If you do not have an extra coolant hose attached to your coolant pump install on now.
- Take an emery cloth and wipe down the waycovers that have built up residue on them so they are smooth and clean to keep chips from sticking and keep the waycovers sliding freely.
- Redirect any coolant flush systems setup to properly keep chips off of waycovers.
- Pull back waycovers and clean under the covers as well as in the corners where each slat slides.
- Replace any wipers that are damaged
- Silicone all waycovers to prevent coolant and chips from going underneath them.
Q: How do I install a Waycover?
• A: The following tips can be used as best practice when replacing your waycover: (expand)
- Start with cleaning the complete area where the way cover is installed.
- Next make sure any drainage hole in the casting area and corners drain properly to prevent future build up.
- Run Straight edge along side when mounted to see if anything looks crooked. If not please reform brackets to correct misalignment.
- Any bolts that are used should be replaced, including any main pivoting bolts used. This is important!
- Polish with emery or soft wire wheel any waycovers that have residue on them so its a nice shiny smooth surface.
- Make sure all rollers that run on top of the ways or machine casting roll freely.
- Look for all bumpers that are installed on each slat if equipped for smooth quiet operation.
- Make sure all cable carriers do not rub on underside of way covers throughout travel of axis if equipped.
- After installation lubricate the cover before moving. Spray oil or coolant on it. Larger covers need lubrication due to its size.
- Make sure way cover does not look like it is twisted in any way when mounting. Sometimes running a straight edge along the side of it will help to see how the alignment is.
- Hand wheel the CNC axis the full length of stroke slowly to make sure nothing binds.
- Move axis slowly to ends of travel and watch for binding and lifting of any way cover section and listen for abnormal noise or popping sounds and find causes
- Put a program in the machine that runs the axis full stroke at a slow (under 25%) feed rate and let run for 15 minutes to make sure there are no problems.
- Make sure all coolant flushes and conveyors are properly evacuating chips from corners and buildup areas on way covers
Q: Do you offer Installation Services?

We can, however, provide guidance and advice for you to self re-install.
