This RS-232 Extender allows you to extend RS-232 peripherals to a remote location up to 1000 feet away. Extending RS232 beyond 200ft with normal cable can sometimes cause problems as well as being easily effected with electrical noise induced from outside sources. All 9-pins are perfectly reproduced from one end to the other. The RS-232 Extender sender unit connects to your computer using the supplied 6' cable. The extended RS-232 devices are then connected by a CAT-5 cable. The sender unit that is attached near your PC is powered by a 5 volt power supply which needs to be plugged in near sender unit. The sender unit will also power the receiver via the CAT-5 cable on the machine or remote device side. So no external power is needed near the machine or external rs232 device

Installation: Installation is a breeze, plug everything in and it just works. No software to install or configure.
Not included: A Ethernet cable is not included to go between the sender and receiver unit. This will depend on the length required between your PC and machine. A standard Ethernet patch cable is all you need. The cable between the machine and receiver unit is also not included as this may vary depending on CNC machine attached.
